If an outpatient progran is urine testing for everything, five panel plus alcohol, Would that be an ETP test or is that something special for alcohol

First, a 5-panel test is testing for the basic drug groups*, not everything. 5-panel +alcohol is testing just for the presence of alcohol in urine and not EtG. EtG is a different test entirely.

They typically do not use that for alcohol testing as it has been found to be very inaccurate, but it is possible. I work in the medical field and we perform blood alcohol and breath alcohol testing. The blood alcohol is referred to as an ETOH level. Hope this helps.

The panel configuration isn't particularly important to your question. Regardless if it is denoted + plus alcohol then it would detect only EtOH in urine at the time you provided the sample.

It is pretty much a useless test, but the added cost is only about 50 cents.

Drug tests do not detect EtG... tests for alcohol do not detect EtG. EtG is present after the alcohol has been eliminated and is a specific test. Some labs do offer EtG optionally in expanded panel tests. But it would not be described as + alcohol.

Last night I had 3 beers between 9 pm and 11 pm then I went to bed. Today 17 hours later at 5 pm, my PO gave me a urine test. How will these 3 beers effect this test. Will I fail it?

There will be no alcohol (EtOH) in your system.

If the test is looking for EtG, remaining after the alcohol has been eliminated, it should be positive at that time range.
