Hi I am 15 years old and my boyfriend is 19. We live in wa. I am pregnant n I am so scared. I am on the because pill but it didn't work! Can my boyfriend go to jail? And how long for? Is there anyway he can't go to jail? Please help me. I need it!

How far along are you? Have you been to the doctor and are your parents aware?

He can go to jail, I suppose, depending on state laws. It doesn't mean he will however.

The age of consent in the state of Washington is 16, and from reading the information I provided, he can be prosecuted and found guilty of third degree rape of a child. A DA will have all of the evidence they need in the DNA of your child. Additionally, your parents could try and have him prosecuted for custodial interference. This is a very serious situation.

Sorry to be harsh, but you made a very adult decision to have sex at the age of 15. You have to deal with the consequences that go along with it in an equally adult manner. This includes seeking medical care, telling your parents that you are pregnant, and seeking their help in whatever decision that you make regarding the child. He also made a decision to have sex with a minor, who is also under the age of consent for your state. He has to deal with the consequences of this as well, which may very well include prosecution, jail time, and registering as a sex offender.

I will agree, and perhaps sound harsh, too late to be scared, you decided like many on here that you were mature, you were responsible, that you were grown up and knew you were ready. So this is what happens when you have sex. No form of birth control is 100 percent, some get pregnant using birth control pills and condoms.

So now you have to get ready to be a mother. Perhaps your parents won't press charges and your boyfriend will not go to prison for several years. But is he standing by you, when he has to work and pay child support, when he can not run with his friends as much and is suppose to do things with the baby, willl he still be there?

If you have not told your parents, do so, and then start visiting the doctor.

Im only 2 weeks along. Yeah that is true and I can't take it back now. So if my parents don't press charges he can't go to jail? Is it all up to whether my Parents press charges or not?

You NEED to get to a doctor. Proper prenatal care is vital to a healthy baby and mother.

No, a doctor cannot tell your parents or the police. However, I'm not sure whether you will need parental consent to have an abortion in your state at your age.

Please keeping talking to me. I'm scared. Are you 100% sure they can't? I'm going to the doctors tomorrow but I need to get my mums Medicare card will she be able to see if I use it? I think I do need it, I want you to know Im getting an abortion because it's a better choice for the baby. I can't raise it and my boyfriend won't stand by me the whole time specially if he goes to jail.

You can not legally get an abortion without your parents signing for you since you are a minor.

Ok, In Wa you don't need to get parental permission or notify your parents.

However, your boyfriend does appear to be guilty of statutory rape. Whether he will be reported or prosecuted I can't tell. But you need to stop the sex NOW!

If you use your mother's medicare card, and there is a co-pay, your mother WILL find out.

I know it's hard and very scary at your age, but you NEED to discuss this with your mother.

No I'm from Australia, wa is western Australia.

Western Australia requires parent notification for an abortion.
It also has more restrictions on reasons to get an abortion. You and a parent will have to prove a need,not just a desire.

Also sorry but death is not really a "better option" for a child, adoption would be since the child would live.

This is not something you can do on your own, you have to discuss this with your parents.
