    Child Support after 18?
    My son is now 31 yers old. His father is seeking back child support payments for the years of 1990 -1994 is he eligible to receive these payments for any unpaid support?

    If there was a child support order in place during 1990-1994 then possibly he can recover this unpaid support. Why did he wait so long to do this?

    In my State - NY - child support owed never dies. Was the support Court-ordered? Were the arrearages ever reduced to a Judgment?

    Not only do they last a lifetime there may be interest involved. Depending on what the starting balance was it can ballon to six figures over that amount of time easy.

    So basically as long as he had a court order for child support at that time, he very likely can still collect.
