Give up on child support or face child abandonment
I have PTSD from domestic violence and have to take medications which do not allow me to drive. I have custody of my three children. The court has ordered that I pick the children up from visits; I don't even have a car right now. I thought of asking that he provide all transport in lieu of signing over the child support (which I haven't received anything anyway.) The Judge does not yet know that I can't drive. He is taking me to court for contempt in a few days. So, if he provides all transport in lieu of child support, is this something the Judge would consider?

You can't use child support as a trading card. No, the Judge cannot consider such an arrangement.

Explain your situation to the Judge. Perhaps he'll arrange for visitation in a place you can get to; perhaps he'll order the children dropped off and picked up.

It will not be transportation in lieu of support.

I have written a letter to the court and the Judge through it out and said I should have to take some responsibility in the transport. But the Judge did not know and I did not realize at the time that I am not allowed to drive with the medication in my system.

Then when you go back to Court take your medical proof with you.

It think this problem is one that can (and will) be solved BUT it is not going to be an exchange of child support for transportation.

You may use trains and buses for transportation;)
