You need to leave this almost adult alone.
The law does need to get in the way as he is breaking it.
Do your parents know you are dating him?
You need to not have your phone number on here. Delete it

Yeah, don't ever provide personal information like that, you don't know who might be looking.

He is too old for you, and will probably take advantage of you because of the upper hand that he has, whether you notice it or not. And It depends where you live, in Texas if you don't have sex (any type of sexual activity) then you are not breaking the law.

    Good luck,

I know in my case there is as few years difference, I was seeing a 24 year old when I was 14 and he groomed me, he got what he wanted my virginity, tell him you want to wait till your 16 at least and if he is okay with that then he is a decent guy and worth hanging onto, if not then he is not x

Believe it or not this guy is breaking the law you need to let him go before he gets you into more trouble than you think.

There are no laws that prohibit dating. All the laws deal with sexual activity between you.

So the key here becomes parental approval. If your parents do not object and he does not go beyond hand holding and kissing, then no laws are being broken. However if your parents object (and I hope they would) then he might be breaking the law by continuing to see you.

However, I have to question parents that would allow a 13 yr old to date on on one let alone a 17 yr old. Also an 18 yr old is NOT a kid, he's an adult. And I find it hard to accept that a 17-18 yr old would be interested in a 13-14 yr old except for sex.

You are very naïve and I suspect inexperienced (evidenced by your posting a phone # on the WEB). So I suspect your feeling for this guy are more the attention he gives you as a child then anything real.

You say that you started dating him last year - so you were 13 and he was 17? Like a high school junior, and you were what - in 7th or 8th grade? This is very, very abnormal.

You say you would stay with him and just hold hands. Seriously - he's going to wait another 4 years until you are 18, so in total the two of you are going to spend 5 years holding hands before it's legal to have an intimate relationship? Not going to happen. He is attracted to children - 13 year olds to be specific - and as soon as you start to mature and be able to be more of an equal to him as an adult in the relationship, he will move on to another child.

This "relationship" is really you, as a child, being pursued by a predatory person who is not whole enough in himself to be able to handle a relationship with someone an appropriate age.

Wait until you are in high school, then limit dating to people who are no more than 1 to 2 years older than you. If the law is "getting in the way" that should tell you the relationship is really a disaster - stick with kids your own age and dump this obvious loser before your parents have to do it.

What, by the way, do your parents have to say? I have a 16 year old son and if I found out he had a girl friend your age, he'd be on so many restrictions he wouldn't know what hit him.
