Used a disabled parking spot to turn around>got a $1300.00 ticket.
I never put the truck in park. I took my Son to Walmart to drive my 79 year old Mother home from work due to some severe rain & road conditions. My Mother who needs and uses a DP placecard was waiting in her car for us to get there, when we do I pulled into the spot directly across from her my Son jumped out I put the truck in reverse and started to pull back out when I see a Sheriffs car behind the truck. I tell him what I was doing and that I didn't park or get out of the truck or even turn it off and that my Mother & Son just pulled out, as I tried to call her back to show that I was telling him the truth. He really didn't care, He just kept asking for my paperwork, takes it and returns with a ticket. And the truck is hers & registered to her. So I guess my question is; Is there a law that states you can't use a DP spot to turn around?

    Hello M:

No, there isn't. You can certainly plead not guilty, and I would.

I agree, not only do I think you should, but I think you will win. When you go to court, you ask the officer if he ever saw you step out of your vehicle. If he tells the truth and says no, the judge should dismiss the ticket.
