Where is a good place to get red velvet cake or cupcakes?
I am doing red velvet cake or red velvet cupcakes for my birthday. But I need a cheap and good place to get them! I live in North Carolina. I looked at The Cupcake Shoppe Bakery! But any other ideas will probably help me a lot!

I have baked up the premix from the grocery store and they were good.
Cost about $1.00 a dozen but you got to wash the pan.

And adding sugar free/natural applesauce instead of water will make it super moist! Happy birthday!

martinizing2 finds this helpful : I used captured/unnatural applesauce once.. . never again

LOL! Yes, the unfree applesauce isn't as willing to do your bidding.

    That's your choice :)

Don't let our tangent be the judge of applesauce in baked goods, though. I was serious when I said it made cakes very moist (and delicious).

Don't judge this before you try it.

    Cream cheese and cherry jelly.
Warm the cheese to room temp.
Use about 2 tablespoons jelly per 8oz pkg CC.
And 1 tbls lemon juice and beat the hell out of it
    (after you mix them together.)edit
For at least 2 minutes with an electric mixer
Or 2 1/2 hours by hand. ( maybe less)

This is almost too good to feed to humans , so send the leftovers my way.

    Hello:

Isn't a red velvet cake just a chocolate cake dyed red?
