Possibly if NY wants you bad enough. But keep in mind that each time you are stopped by the police you will have an outstanding warrant from NY on your head and you will be detained by the other state until NY decides what they want to do with you. This scenerio will be repeated each time you go to the DMV or anywhere else that you are liable to have a warrants check made on you. Warrants never expire either by the way regardless of where you move to until the Judge who issued the warrant recinds it.

Well if your on probation in NY and move with your PO's consent then they will only extradite you if you are wanted, like violating your probation or catching another charge, or moving with out telling them.

Uh, if you don't have your PO's consent to move to the other state and you are caught you WILL be extradited. But if you DO have your PO's consent then you won't be extradited as the person will be "legally" in the other state on probation there.

I think you kind of have things mixed up a little here Angiemarie.

What happens if I am located in Indiana and I am on misdemeanor probation, but I want to move to Michigan without talking to my PO. Will I get extradited back over some misdemeanor BS?

    Hello L:

You might... They'll arrest you, and keep you in jail until they find out the other state isn't coming, and they'll let you out... The warrant won't go away, though... So, the next time you're stopped, they'll arrest you, and keep you in jail until they...

    Over, and over again...
