Cerazette, antibiotics and worries
Well I'm 17 and I have been on Cerazette, a progesterone only contraceptive pill, for nearly 4 months but about 3 weeks ago I had a skin infection and I had to take some Flucloxocillin for 5 days and since I finished I have been bleeding on and off, sometimes quite heavily and sometimes just spotting. I had sex without a condom a few hours after I took the 1st antibiotic pill (I had forgotten about the affects of antibiotics) and not for 2 weeks after that. I have continued taking Cerazette even while I was on the antibiotics and since, I have started having sex again but I'm worried about the bleeding. I don't think that I'm pregnant because I assume that it takes at least 48 hours for the antibiotics to kick in, originally I assumed that the bleeding was due to the fact it was as if I was coming off the pill because of the Flucloxacillin but now I am back on it and I am still bleeding on and off I'm starting to worry. I don't want to go to my GP yet and I was just hoping to get some opinions on it. Thanks.

Certain antibiotics can effect the pills effectiveness for at least the month. (been dealing with this with wife on and off for years) But yes.. you do continue taking the pill on schedule. But keep in mind... even without the antibiotics. The pill (any contraceptive in fact) is NOT 100% effective. Besides not being married you NEED to limit your exposure to STD's and the pill used alone doesn't help at all there.
If you really need to get an idea if you are or aren't before going to your doctor, get a home pregnancy test at a pharmacy.

Yes I'm thinking that, but I'm in a serious relationship so I'm not sleeping around, thing is that I have read that only certain antibiotics affect progesterone only pills rather than combined pills, this from the NHS website, is this true?

The progestogen-only pill does not interact with antibiotics, including:
Amoxicillin,
Ampicillin,
Azithromycin,
Cefadroxil,
Cefixime,
Cefradine,
Cefalexin,
Cefpodoxime,
Clarithromycin,
Co-amoxiclav,
Co-fluampicil,
Doxycycline,
Erythromycin,
flucloxacillin,
Metronidazole,
Minocycline,
Oxytetracycline,
Tetracycline, and
Tinidazole.
That's what I have found, but a second opinion would settle my mind.

If you have been taking the pill as directed you have very good odds of not getting pregnant. Certainly if you have your partner use a condom that will offer even greater odds against pregnancy when combined with the pill. Not to mention the adding protection against acquiring a STD.
Have you missed a period? Is that why you think you might be pregnant? If so, try a pregnancy test. If not, from here on, consider not having sex unless you are using the pill and a condom for protection.
Pregnancy will still be a possibility (no contraceptive is 100% effective), but you will lower the odds of an unplanned pregnancy. Even better, stop having sex until you are in a position to be better able to deal with the possible consequences. Then you won't ever have to worry about a surprise.

I missed this part before...
Point to consider... YOU many not be... but how do you know where HE has been the last 5+ years... or when he's not with you. You are playing Russian Roulette with your life in this day and age when you assume anything about someone else.

I have been taking the birth control pill Cerazette for about 6 months now without missing a day. The other week I missed taking the pill one day. I resumed taking the pill within 36 hours of the missed pill (i.e. I only missed 1 day, 1 pill). I was abstinent for the next 5 days, while taking the...
