Child custody and a man convicted of domestic violence
I am just starting the divorce process and am dating a man accused of domestic violence against his estranged wife (she is a real nut case! ) I have a 13 year old daughter who adores this man. Can my soon to be ex-husband use my boyfriends past to prevent me from obtaining custody of our daughter?

    Hello c:

He certainly can mention it, and probably will. I don't know if that's enough to prevent you from getting custody.

Depends on how recent the violence was and of what nature. At a minimum he may be able to gain a restraining order against this man to keep him away from his daughter. And when you violate it he will get full custody.

We live together and she has a temper and was arrested. I was planning on moving to GA when our lease was up. Why wait if I don't have to. I don't want to go there and take my kids and get in trouble for taking them. We live in Florida right now. Any advice?
