Felony ruined me, now what do I do?
I am 25 and about a yr ago I was convicted of a felony... I had picked up a fake perscription for someone and didn't know it until after the fact... I'm the one paying for it.. a felony conviction for a pharmacy act so clearly no pharmecy job for me... but what can I do? I always wanted something in medical or criminal but I'm afraid my chances are shot... I know some woman who had worse backgrounds then me and they are cna's... I guess it just depends on some places.. I am doing everything to better my life, I am a volunteer firefighter and luckily they took me in knowing about my felony.. so if it came down to resumes.. that looks good right?

Yes, it looks good. But it's not good enough.
Sadly, a felony, especially when it is a drug felony, will keep you out of the medical field since most people in the medical field have easy access to narcotics and other addictive drugs.

Yes, you may as well write off any real future in the medical or law enforcement fields.

Hello s:
Call me a skeptic, but I can't pick up a prescription unless the pharmacist IDENTIFIES me... Plus, to be convicted of a felony, you had to have guilty knowledge... Picking up a prescription for a friend ISN'T a crime.
So, as long as you're going to minimize your felonious activities, you're in for more trouble...

Hello again, sum:
Ok. I'm not going to admonish you further.
As you've found out, a felon is NOT an attractive candidate for employment... My advice is to go into business for yourself.. Not many people ask a businessperson they're about to contract with, about their criminal record... Whatever job you can perform as an employee, you can perform as a private contractor.
If you like law enforcement, in MY state, being a felon does NOT bar you from becoming a private investigator, and opening your own agency. No, you can't be armed, but there's still plenty of work.
What else do you like doing?

Depends on what the script is for. If it's a Scheduled II Narcotic, they need ID. If it's not, the pharmacist can give it to anyone who says they are there to pick it up for Jane Doe.

Thank you:) I was actually looking into being a drug/alcohol counselar, not only is the pay good but they actually prefer to hire people that has been in trouble or had any kind of addictive behavior, so this might be my calling:)
