I can not have a bank account because I owe child support and I will not pay the support order from the court. I have a DNA test results that state that somebody else is the father.The DNA was sent to me by the real father of the child and it states that he is
99.7% biological father.I have had hearing after hearing and the same answer I get is that I was married to the mother at the time of conception and birh.this the reason we are divorced she had a affair while we were married. I can not have a bank account because every time I get one they seize the account. My employer is wanting me to go with direct deposit but I tell them that at this time I cant. I would love to go with direct deposit it would save me a lot of time trying to run around and find somebody to cash my check not to mention trying to pay my bills with money orders. Trust me... I know 2 guys in jail in Virginia for refusing to pay support for kids proven via DNA testing to not be theirs... in EXACTLY the same situation as you.

Unfortunately the law in at least some states totally ignores the biological deadbeat dads obligations and forces men who are NOT the kids fathers (via their wives infidelity) to pay and will jail those who won't on principle.

It helps to know what state you reside in as those laws do vary because if you reside in those states you really don't have a lot you can do but pay to raise someone else's kid.

The only way you can get out of that obligation is via Court.

Depends on the State to some extent but this is not a terribly unusual situation. How old is the child?

All I can read is that you are defying a Court Order. The other man won't go to jail for lying; your ex-wife won't go to jail for lying; you can go to jail for ignoring a Court Order.

The child now is 18 in the Michigan but I now live in Georgia. The X lives in Mi and that is were the child was born. The X was on state welfare all the time till the child was 18. I think the state law stinks. A state senator was no help.

I can't even go see my family due to the fact I could be arrested and thrown in jail in a state were I don't live anymore and more than likely lose my job.

You would be thrown in jail because you are defying a Court Order. That's important to mention.

When did you find out that this is not your child?

OK, being this wasn't a recent event... that changes things a LOT. When did you find out? When was this support ordered? How long did you raise the child? It's a whole different thing then if you found out before it was born or at least shortly after.

If you raise the kid for a good portion of its life... then you are its parent... even if not in the biological sense. And the law does reflect that sentiment. Next to impossible to change something like that 18 years after the fact.
