    Probation laws?
My son is 17 and was put on Probation for having less then a gram of pot. He has since then been in a car accident and was given a ticket for "reckless driving" and "failure to maintain his lane". Well the probation officer wants him to come in the day after court. I am guessing to see what happens with the tickets. Is this a violation of probation and if yes then will he go to jail? And for how long?
    Thanks

Impossible to know - could get the full sentence he would have received the first time around, could get a warning.

If the Court feels he has little respect for the law in general I see him going to jail.

Did HE advise the PO of the tickets OR did the PO find out some other way? It will make a difference.

He told the PO about the ticket and court. That is why the PO wants to see him the day after. I have been told 2 things, 1. it is a violation and 2. it is not a violation because it is traffic court, I do not know which is true.

    Hello b:

Traffic tickets would not normally result in your son going to jail.

Exie is correct. A traffic ticket does not mean instant jail time for your son IF he reported it (and you said he did report it). He won't be going to jail as those tickets he got carry no jail time.

Please put your answer as a "answer" don't use the comment feature.

    1. it is a violation but not one that would normally cause them to violate them.
