    I'm here,ill play.

    I installed the fire fox thingy,my screen is all weird.

    Feels like driving someone else's car, I'm pressing buttons and in a mild panic.

    My cursor has a teddy bear with ballon's flying around the screen.

    Bizarre.

    Hey Bella. Sorry I disappeared on you last night, I got caught up in a thread where the OP was really mean to Kit. It was totally unwarranted.

    So I got woken up this morning at 7:30 am (yes I was still sleeping) by the phone ringing. I decided to let the machine pick it up because I was groggy and didn't feel like running to the kitchen to answer it.

    So the person leaves a message and now my blood is boiling.

    Background;

    Two weeks ago we had to get a pay day loan from money mart. We borrowed $600 and had every intention of paying it back the following week. Well the poo hit the fan, some unexpected expenses came up, so we could only pay a few hundred dollars back, but we made arrangements to make another payment yesterday and than a final payment next week. They accepted.

    If anyone has ever talked to me on the phone you know that I don't answer calls that show up on call display as Unknown name, Unknown number, or 1-800 numbers. If it's important they can leave a message and I'll call back. If they don't leave a message, well they obviously don't want to talk to me that badly, or they're selling something.

    So the last few days I've been getting calls from a 1-877 number, Unknown name. I let the machine pick it up and they never leave a message.

    Well this morning they did. Here's the message word for word;

    "Okay enough is enough, this is Carla from money marts head office. We've been calling you nonstop but you never call us back. So here's the thing, this is going to be your last chance, your final opportunity to contact us, phone number given. Grab a pen, write this down, call us, NOW! Phone number given. This is your last chance. "

    Here's the thing, we were just at money mart yesterday and made a payment, talked to the manager, told him that we're coming again next week and were told that that's fine.

    So I'm fuming, angry, get up, make a pot of coffee, grab the phone, calm down, and I'm about to call Carla when the phone rings again. Here's the conversation;

    Me: Hello.

    Lady that barely speaks English (will be known as Lady); Hello, this is Lady from money mart, can I speak to R please.

    Me: He's at work.

    Lady: Can you please talk to him and tell him he has to call us back. He was supposed to make a payment on the 26th, today is the 27th.

    Me: Don't you people talk to each other or check your records? I went with him to money mart yesterday and watched him make a payment, and he talked to the manager. When we left we were told everything was fine, but today I get a very rude call from Carla at head office and now you're calling claiming that we haven't even made a payment. What the hell is going on?

    Lady: I am looking at our records right now and it's not showing that you made a payment, so please talk to R and ask him to call us otherwise this will go to collections.

    Me: Lady, I was with him when we went to MM, I saw him make the payment, he has a receipt for the payment, and you're telling me that your records don't show it? This has me very concerned. How many times have we paid something and your records show that we haven't?

    Lady: He didn't go to MM yesterday.

    Me: Yes, he did. I was with him, my kids were with him, and a friend of ours was with him. I saw him make a payment. We have the receipt showing that he did.

    Lady: Oh.

    Me: This has me very upset. I don't appreciate being called by a very rude person from head office telling me this is my last chance, saying we never return the calls. She's never left a message until now, and I don't answer calls from 1-800 numbers. Now you call and say we haven't followed our agreement when it's very clear that we're the only ones following it and you people don't seem to talk to each other or keep accurate records, but you have no problem calling us to instill fear when we've done everything we promised we'd do.

    You have to get this straightened out and I better not be getting any more calls threatening me that it's my last chance when I was never given a first chance and didn't need any chances period because we've done everything we're supposed to do.

    Lady: I'm sorry ma'am. I'll check on this and get back to you.

    Me: You do that. Good bye.

    I am so mad I could spit nails.

    Sorry, just had to share so that I don't explode. ;)

    Should I call Carla back? Dog knows Lady won't be contacting her to tell her that they're in the wrong.

    Call and get their fax number. Along with a written letter saying what you may... fax a copy of your receipt and the name of the person at the location where you made the payment.

    This is their tactic, and it sucks! But when you do this along with the date that you will make the next payments it should get them off your backs.

    Oh I would most definitely call Carla back. Lady obviously called from a call center in an unknown land, and call centers and stores are very rarely on the same page.

    I had a similar experience, well actually two of them, one with a HBC credit card, that was sent to me in the mail, and never used, all of a sudden I am being charged $65 and it's being sent to collections. I had to call my bank, and the manager of HBC credit cards, plus the manager of the collection agency that was harassing me. It was kind of funny, because they were all blaming each other.

    Another time was with a water bill that was truthfully oaid EXTREMELY late, but paid none the less, the guy calling refused to believe I paid, saying he delt with people like me all the time and he wasn't born yesterday. Finally he called the H2O company and they verified that the payment was made.

    So, yes call Carla, and have the receipt with you. It should have the agent who took the payments name as well as a transaction number for you to fall back on.

    I am heading out to the camp, I'll be back on Sunday. Does R work nights this week coming, and is the other R leaving this week? He better, he is really putting a cramp in my style, but saving me loads in long distance LOL.

    Call you Sunday Alty.

    Alty... step 1, sort out the payment and show them the receipt.

    Step 2, file a formal complaint against Carla.

    That's the date my dog died,

    It really is just a note since I'm here almost everyday and it will remind me rather than making a note somewhere and losing it

    Hi all.

    I called the number Carla left, asked to speak to Carla, was told that Carla isn't available and that she (the person that answered) could help me.

    I told her my name, and R's (because he's the one that took out the loan) and told her I was very upset about the call from Carla, and the call from Lady, and the fact that we did make a payment, have never missed one, and we're getting these kinds of calls.

    I told her I was very angry at the way they handled this and the fact that they obviously don't keep very accurate records.

    She apologized and asked to hear the message Carla had left. I played it for her, she was shocked. She apologized again.

    I told them that they had better not call again unless they actually had something to complain about, and if that ever happened Carla better learn to be more polite or they won't be getting any more of our business.

    She apologized over and over again and said she'd speak to her manager about Carla.

    I'm still mad, but at least they know it and they know they're at fault here, not us.

    On a side note, Indy came downstairs again today. He can get down the stairs but can't get back up, so sooner or later he has to go potty and just sits downstairs barking for someone to carry him up the stairs. I can't, he's too heavy. R isn't home. So Indy crapped all over the basement and peed a river under my computer table. He's covered in poo and pee and every time I try to clean him up he snaps at me, so right now he's laying by my feet, laying in his own urine and poo and there's nothing I can do about it.

    Today is a very bad day. :(

    It's me... remember me?

    Sorry about Indy. I have to say that I am glad that you made the call. However I think that she won't do anything formal in the way of a complaint about Carla Alty. These companies do business this way very similar to collection companies. She wanted to make you feel better I think.
