I am a Uk citizen and I have recently married a US citizen here in the UK. My spouse has now returned to the US and I am planing on going out there on the VWP once there will I be able to apply to stay and not have to come back to the UK?

You can always apply, but marriage to a US Citizen doesn't automatically guarantee you that you will get a green card or even be allowed to stay. And that time can be substantual as well as the costs.

I have personal Experience in that area.

The cost is not really a issue. The only thing that matters to me is been with my wife. Will me been married to an american also effect me entering the US on the VWP?

I can't answer that specific question, That's beyond my experience. Just wanted to point out getting married to an American isn't an automatic or even a guaranteed right to a green card. It's a very common misconception that it gives any entitlement when it really doesn't.

Thank you for the info, sorry if I seem a little sour I just find the whole situation stressful, been kept apart from the woman I love. This should be considered agenst our human rights due to the amount off stress we're going through. It is natural for humans to love been kept apart like this.

Trust me... been there, done that. Yes its IS extremely stressful. Took almost 2 YEARS for my wife's green card to be approved... and even then it took knowing somebody in high places to get them to do their job.

Trust me... the site censor software would let me type 90% of what I actually thought when I dealt with that.

Thank people who were doing sham marriages in the past for that. That's WHY its not automatic any more... so there is a very good reason behind it.

I'll try to remain hopful that I will be able to enjoy my marriage one day, while in the mean time I will be cursing the horribly ******** who are making my life a nigtmare.

The VWP is not intended for you to immigrate to the US. My husband came over from the UK on a K1 fiancé visa, but since you are already married, your wife should look into the I-130 and K3 spousal visas.
