I got a new tank a 125 gallon tank and I got 3 pleco I'm not sure what species they are but they are all small as of now.. I was told they would grow up to 24+ inches. I'll get pictures up soon to help identify.

Congrats on the new tank! You'll find that maintaining this size of tank is a lot easier then that 30gal.

Plecos get huge.. Once they get big, they get lazy and actually stop eating algea and will start to eat the fish food. Even for that size tank, you only need one. They grow pretty fast too..

Please remember for ALL FISH.. it is 1 inch per gal. If you want to add more fish, please return the other two plecos.

Lucky, I may have to pick your brain later. I have a 20 gallon tank, two fish, and nothing but problems. In fact, I'm thinking of re-homing them, I can't take it anymore. :(

I know someone who has 4 goldfish that are about 3-5 inches each in a 1 gallon tank but he's stupid.. but I think I'm going to end up just keeping the plecos they are full of energy right now and are chasing each other around. Its really adoreable

Goldfish have been known to live well past 20 years of age. Koi, can live to see 100 years old.. Putting fish in small tanks and overcrowding with poor filtartion will only shorten the lifespan. The fish may live up to 3-5 years like that, but eventually they will die from their own filth.

I'm sorry if I sound rude, but you're really not adding the right right at the right times. Plecos, or any other type of algea eater, shouldn't be added until algea is on the tank. You're going to have to supplement these little guys with a chunk of zuccini. Also, I'm assuming you just set up the 125.. the tank needs to cycle. I'll be surprised if your plecos make it during that time. I also hope that they are currently in your established tank..

To help the 125 cycle fast, you can add a cup or so of the water from your 30 into that one.

Do you want a semi-aggressive tank? South American Cichlids? You can pretty much do anything you want with the 125gal tank as far as what types of fish your looking for.

Well the tank was bought from a professional store called ocean gallery it cost me about $4,000 total for a cycled water and filtration system and sand bed. I've also got algae waifers for them and I got a cave and some driftwood. Also I've got densely grown live plants throughout the bed of the tank and well as the back wall with moss. They have taken a good liking to it. I'm thinking I want to do a semi-agressive tank but I'm going to wait for it to "cycle" as you say but that's why I paid a little more for the water. It was from their previous tank as well as from huge jugs of water. Does this sound about right? As far as the goldfish go, its his choice if he wants to kill them early, it's sad but oh well. Also his water is always clear, clearer than my 30 gallon.. I'm very purplexed by this.

If he has those fish in the 1 gallon he must have to change the water daily, maybe twice a day... that's ridiculous and too much work for me!
