    2000 Tundra A/C warm at stops.
    I have a 2000 Toyota Tundra Limited. 4.7 V8, auto trans, access cab. A/c blows warm when truck is stopped. Blows nice and cold while truck is moving. Never had a problem until Toyota replaced frame and opened A/C system at compressor. No leaks found. I put gauges on yesterday with A/C running. Lo was 55 psi and high kept climbing. I shut A/C off when hi was at 425 psi. Outside temp was 85 with high humidity. I don't suspect blockage as lo does not draw to vaccuum. Am I looking at moisture in system? There are no bubbles in sight glass on receiver dryer. I had system evacced and recharged a week ago (charged to 1.43 lbs). Was good for about one day, then back to blowing warm when stopped. Any help would be greatly appreciated as properly functioning A/C would be nice again in this heat. Thank you for your time.

    Try watering down the condenser while watching the pressures. And if they back down quickly, I would think the condenser is not receiving enough air flow. The fan and shroud should work 100% and be air tight around the edges. The fan clutch should be roaring when the high side gets that high. Could also be simply over charged.

    It sounds like an overcharge, to me. Both high and low pressures indicate problems. Take it back to Toyota for servicing. Tell the service manager the story.

    Did they replace the drier and TXV, when they opened the system? It's good policy to always do this.

    I highly agree about the receiver drier. They had the system "open" for a considerable time.
    In this humidity, the drier will saturate in no time. Insist on it being replaced if you go back.

    Thanks for replies. I will check fan clutch and shroud. Not sure of overcharge as A/C decal is missing under hood.

    A missing decal usually means the receiver/dryer has been replaced at some point in time.
    O.E. replacements come with a sticker, sometimes more than one due to different vehicle applications and different vehicle capacities. Has no one else serviced your A/C?

    Also, you mention that the loss of cooling only seems to occur while stopped? Kitch is right! Check fan clutch operation.

    Took truck back to dealer today after finding bottom half of fan shroud missing (thanks Kitch). They replaced it, evacced system, did 10 minute leak test (passed), recharged to 1.43 lbs (correct charge). Staying cold for now. Will give it a few days and see.A/C sticker missing because I replaced hood after severe hail storm.

    Update. Cooling much better but, will still go warm when stopped. Cooled down condenser wit hose and cooled agaian. Looks like time to replace fanclutch. Thanks again to all who replied.
