Trane A/C Freezing up and not cooling
I have a home Trane A/C. It has had problems cooling. When I went into the attic and looked at it I found something interesting. On the side of the unit, From right to left, there was the extra drain pipe then primary condensation pipe, then a copper small tube with frozen condensation around it probably 2 inches in diameter, next to it was a large black rubber hose with the same Ice finding at the attachment site for the hose and the unit. Around the area on the unit, there noted to be some condensation on the side. The drip pan is empty and the drain pipes are clear. Any idea what might be causing the attachment sites of the copper ~1/4" tubing and the ~1 1/2" rubber hose to form ice at the attachment sites to the unit. Thanks for your help.

Lack of air flow (closed registers or dirty air filter and a possible dirty coil) are a few of the causes.

Also some units when low on refrigerant will also offer up the same circumstances.
