First, where did she abandon the child? At a bus stop, a grocery store, or a carnival? The time to file abandonment charges was then and there. The authorities should have been notified that the child was abandoned by the first person that found her. With that being said I'm going to guess that you have the girl and she wasn't acutally abandonded so much as left with you (that is not abandonment). Have you gone to court to get custody awarded to you and a support order yet? If not that is where you have to start because if there is no order to enforce then how do you ever expect to collect any support?

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

Second, There is a sticky note at the top of this forum that deals with the issue of child abandonment. GA is a bit different from most of the other states, but I don't believe that abandonment is what you want.

You need to define what it is you want to accomplish here. Are you looking to get child support payments or custody or what?
