I don't have my period yet, but one day I looked at my pants and there was white sticky stuff on them. What do I say to my mum?

Your mother is WRONG! This is old school thought. Douche can cause infections and even infertility.

We have a delicate balance of bacteria in our vaginas and vaginal canal. Some of this bacteria is very beneficial to our bodies. Douching can upset this delicate balance and cause many infections. Douching should ONLY be done under a doctor's recommendations for a variety of reasons.

We have discharge for a variety of reasons... premenstruation, ovulation, post ovulation, etc.

Discharge, if odorless and colorless is quite normal and healthy.

No douche unless told to do so by a doctor... How old are you? Are you sexually active? Is there and odor?

Absolutely! As long as it is odorless and colorless as J-9 described, you have nothing to worry about. If that changes, or you experience a rash or itching, let your mum know. Douching is BAD BAD BAD!
