Suggestions on how to replace or repair a Shower/Tub Mixing Valve (Delta Single handle 636-series-classic) which was sheared during attempt to repair leaky shower/tub with Kit RP3614 seat, springs, cams O-ring etc, RP212 ball assembly.

What was sheared? Delta has a valve out there (which they have redesigned) that had a nut that held the cartridge in place that would bind onto the valve body and when a person put a wrench on it it was possible to twist the whole valve apart. But that was not one that used the ball.

Thanks 'afaroo/John' and 'CHayn': in diagram by SpeedBall1, the entire assembly from #3-to-#8 was torn from the column, by :)poweful force on #4!

If I am not mistaken (?? ) there should be two/three small brass set-screws on the inside of the part you are holding in your hand. Those screws hold that piece against the body. If negative, than you have to replace the entire body.

The entire body needs to be replaced. That is the only fix. And I would get rid of the galvanized band strapping too.
