Knocking pipes hot water
We have a shower mixer and, whenever the mixer is turned to hot, there is a loudish vibrating noise which comes from the kithen mixer tap(hot side),which is also slightly dribbling at the same time?
When I open the kitchen mixer hot tap, ALL becomes OK.
All the other taps in our house are OK and they're all mixer taps. Its only the shower mixer and kitchen mixer which seems to be connected to the problem. Its a real pain as it happens every time a shower is taken. Please help

Is your kitchen faucet one handle or two knobs? What's the brand name? Back to you. Tom

Try shutting the supply valves off under the kitchen sink and let us know if the noise goes away.

Sounds like you might have e a loose washer in the hot water tap. Turn the water off and open up the tap. Check that vthe screw's tight and the washer is OK. Good luck, Tom

Tom is correct.. Sure sounds like a loose washer problem. It could also be a washer in the shut off itself. I would start with the faucet, and if all seems OK, then check out the shut off valve under the sink(to work on that you will have to shut the main water to the house off). Good luck and please let us know what you find.

Apologies for late respond as I've been away :(
Just got back to your advice and because the valve under the sink wouldn't shut the supply fully I decided to change that first.
Problem still there :(
When you say loose washer do you mean the rubber washer in the tap housing which is changed when taps are dripping etc? That appears ok and not loose.
As the kitchen sink side seems to be eliminated could it have something to do with the Bath mixer?
To eliminate the rattling noise I turn the kitchen tap and the noise is eliminated, but when the shower hose is taken out of its housing during use the rattling noise appears again and cannot be stopped unless someones in the kithchen to turn the tap again!Sorry for my ignorance but what is exactly a faucet
Very frustrated
To recap:
The rattling noise only ever comes when the shower mixer is turned on and goes away when the kitchen mixers hot tap is turned on.
At no other time does the kitchen mixer tap or any other taps in the house make a rattling noise.
The kitchen mixer works perfectly well on its own.

A faucet is just another word for Tap, valve, mixer valve or hydrant. All mean pretty much the same thing. Cheers, Tom

When using the hot water the pipes start to knock, what is causing this and how to correct it? The pipes knock shortly after the hot water is turned on, and the knocking will continue until the hot water is turnrd off. It is a hard constant knocking.
