How strong is our adoption case against an illegal immigrant?
We would like to start the adoption process for my 2 year old. The biological father is here illegally from Honduras. The courts are supposed to be going after him for child support but he lives somewhere in Florida and we live in SC. What are we facing?

Getting the fathers permission for the adoption.

    1. his illegal status is not an issue really, esp since this is fairly common now aday,
    2. his not paying child support is not really a issue, it only means you need to work harder at collection.

So it is not going to be easy, but you start by hiring an attorney doing the paper work and serving the father paper work.

Yea. We knew that we would have to start with the lawyer, but until we make that move, I am trying to get an understanding as to what we are really up against. We do not know exactly where he is. He apparently doesn't go to court. We get random phone calls saying he doesn't think he is the father, etc... We don't want child support. We just want him out of the picture. He cares nothing about my baby girl. Thank you so much for your answer. But how does him having no legal right to be here not affect the case?
