I trust a different intrepretation of this scripture. It says in (Luke 17:10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

The unprofitable servant is spoken of in (Matthew 25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. )

Because we do our duty and trust in God giving the abundance of fruit. We continue to share all that we have with others, or we are unprofitable servants.

The entire message of (LUKE 17:7-10) was in response to the apostles request of more faith. To answer, faith, and duty we understand how we receive abundantly when we do our duty. It is not just given with no intention of it's using or growing. The fruit is not given to any that stand to profit nothing in it.

As servants of our Lord we should do our duty without expecting a reward.
We only do our duty with love.

Yes, the Holy Spirit is one of the three persons in the triune God.
No, being able to speak in a language a person has not studied could be from other sources than the Holy Spirit.
I believe than many who claim to be speaking in tongues today are being deceptive.
The original speaking in tongues was by the apostles who were speaking to a group of people who spoke different languages.
It was done so that the listeners could understand what was being said.
Today several of those who claim to be speaking in tongues rattle on in a bunch of gibberish that no one understands.
Few, if any, speak to a group of people who speak different languages.

The Holy Spirit only started to be discussed several hundred years after the Bible was written when man tried to squeeze his philosophy into the teachings of the Bible.

As far as what can be taken from the Bible, the holy spirit is simply the power of God.

Not at all; even in biblical times you were not to speak in a tongue unless there was an interpreter around. These days the ‘speaking in tongues’ that they carry on about is not even understood by the speaker.

Speaking in tongues back then was to allow the Jews to travel to toher lands and teach the Word of God to people of other races and countries that spoke different tongues; nothing more, nothing less.

It was back then, and I would have to say even now, a sign from God if an English speaking Bible teacher began speaking fluent Japanese to group of Japanese speaking people.

So, I would hazard to say that false witnesses of God started spreading the word that speaking in tongues is not meant to be translated by man and a babbling possessed person is actually proof of ones devotion to God and acceptance from him.

I disagree with you about the Holy Spirit. He is spoken of very early in the Old Testament. The Hebrew word that itentifies Him is "rauch" which means spirit.
There are many references about the Holy Spirit in the bible and Jesus clearly identifies who He is but name and as "the advocate" and the author of life.
He is the third person of the Holy Trinity who is the Yahweh, the one true and only holy God.

God's holy spirit was of course mentioned early in the Bible as you cannot mention God without referring to his power.

The trinity is never mentioned in the Bible and was not mentioned even in the church for several hundred years after the first century christens died off.

For a few hundred years after the first century christens died off the debate was only about two figures, Yahweh and Jesus while nothing was mention about the so-called third one.

As it is not in the Bible and the Jews never considered a thing as a polytheistic god, you can rule it out as a biblical teaching. (Especially if it something so crucial to Christian belief)

When you read the Bible with no influence from religion, you can plainly see that nothing of the sort exists.

There are probably a dozen vague scriptures that can be twisted around to make it fit some kind of idea of a trinity, but with so a large collection of writings as the Bible, they will obviously find something to back up any claim, hence the 2000 different religions making money off the Bible.

Anyone can believe the Trinity if they so wish, but it is not a teaching of the Bible or a belief ever entertained by the Jewish people.

Jesus said: the apostles and I are one just as the Father and I are one.
The apostles are in union with me just as I am in union with my father.

The apostles do not make up the rest of God; there are not 15 gods making up Yahweh.

You are quite wrong on a number of counts even in the Old Testament there is reference to being filled with the Spirit but not everyone is baptised in the Holy Spirit. Scripture makes it plain the Holy Spirit is a person and a separate person otherwise how is it possible to grieve the Holy Spirit independently from Jesus.
Speaking in tongues has a number of purposes and this is explained in Scripture it is not solely to communicate in an unlearned earthly language,
Speaking in tongues edifies the believer, that is it provides wisdom and knowledge the believer did not previously possess. Speaking in tongues allows us to pray about a situation when we don't know what to pray and it has power. It also enables us to bring forth prophecy and to interpret that prophecy. It also enables us to lift our praise and worship to a different level.
Speaking in tongues is an initial indication of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, it is actually the least of the giftings

The only Spirit I wish to be filled with is the HOLY SPIRIT, I suggest you begin reading Scripture about The Holy Spirit. Paul has excellent explanations in the letters to the Corinthians. You need to do the study I am not going to provide it for you.

You talk much about what is not in Scripture yet you give me a worldly answer. It is time for you to speak about what is in Scripture, not what isn't
