    Who created us?
    Who do you follow?
Who is the Bishop and Shepherd of the soul?
Who gives us strenght in HIS Name?

Romans 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Don't be deceived! Don't be beguiled by satan!

Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through HIM that loved us.

Here is what the Church means when infallibility is defined.
    CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: Infallibility

The Pope is only recognized as infallible when speaking ex cathedra(doctrine regarding faith or morals to be held by the Church)

Possibly the Unity Catholic Church does not pray to the saints. But, as a Roman Catholic, I do.
These are called Intercessory Prayers. You are only asking the Saints to interceed with God in your behalf.

But what can a dead man do. Aren't saints dead, doesn't praying to saints equate to praying through ancestors as done in Africa. Trully speaking, that's one part of the catholic ways that I don't understand. And also why do we have prayers like hail Mary... why does the catholic pray through mary. I understand her role as Jesus' mother but does that mean she can be prayed to?

The real difference is in the understanding, which even many catholics do, The prayer is not going to the saint itself, it is merely a request for that saint to go to Christ with your request, the real "prayer" or the person you expect to answer the problem is still God, the saint merely adds their prayer and request to Jesus to the Father for us. Not any different than asking other church members to pray for us, we don't really "pray" to the other church members we are asking them for their help and prayers and that is what we do to the saints, it is merely requesting their help and assistance,

So in the idea of that the protestant world things of prayer it is not a prayer to the saint to do anything but to pray and go to Jesus for us.

And for us Saints are alive in Christ, as Jesus told the robber on the cross, today you will be with me in paridise.

Okay but the other church members can pray for us because they are alive. How can a dead person pray for us?

Why do you believe they are dead, you don't believe in heaven

    To the OP:

There are many groups out there in Christendom that have answers for your questions. Some are right, some are wrong.

The only thing you can do is read the Bible for yourself, ask God through the Holy Spirit to direct your thoughts and compare ANY church doctrine directly with the Bible.

Some churches are pretty close to right.

    They are dead.
    I believe in heaven.
If they are dead, then they can't do anything for us since they are waiting for judgement day, where they will rise on that day. The only person known to be in heaven right now is Jesus. What vexes me is the position of the dead now. What references are there that we use to say that the Saints can pray for us, because currently I understand that the biible says that the dead have no influence on our lives. Fr Chuck, do you have any information that supports the veneration of Mary. These are mostly the questions that I'm always asked by people and I feel I need to be able to answer, without these answers, even my own faith doesn't make any sense to me.

This thread is being closed, since we have left the original question long ago.

If you have separate questions please feel free to ask each as a specific question, not adding a new question to existing thread, the issue of the popes infalliblity has been addressed and answered
