    College tuition 1/3 parents and child in Wisconsin?
    Is there a law for divorced parents to pay 1/3 (each parent ) and the child pay 1/3 for the state of Wisconsin? Please help. Thanks

    I'm in Wisconsin, and I don't believe there's a set law for this. It might be something that was agreed upon, but I don't think there's a law ordering parents to pay for college tuition - that's a privilege, not a right.

    Could you give us some more specifics on your situation?

    My parents are not divorced, but living separately: mom in Wisconsin, dad in Arizona with me attending college. He paid almost 8,000 in 2011 for me to enter college in AZ and my mom will not pay her half or any type of support to/for me for college
