    Dyt 4000 24hp
My Craftsman DYT 4000 with 24 hp craftsman engine started to run high/low/high/low then cut off. I can get it to run on full choke although it will stall if I move it. I replaced the fuel pump, filter, fuel, cleaned the carb (odd type of carb) and cannot get it to run right. Plugs are color of greyish to brown. When it does run it will idle all day, will not work past 2 minutes of mowing, then dies out. Because the needle valve is plastic and the carb is different than the older styles, there is no air fuel adjustment screw or anything that I could tinker with to try and get it running. Any Clues?

There is no Craftsman engine, is it a Briggs or a Kolher? Sears model number is under the seat, that would help us.

Did you check the vent in the gas cap?

Sorry about that, it is a Briggs and Stratton. I have checked the vent on the gas cap also, with the cap off no change. Thanks
