Your employer will give or mail you a form that shows the amount of withholding taxes paid to the federal government and state if applicable. You should get this form by January 31, 2010.
This form will have your gross earnings as well.
You can take this form to a third party tax preparer and they can fill out the necessary forms. They charge a fee to do this. Find out what the fee is. Check with other third party tax preparers for their fee. Compare but always choose only those that are legal third party preparers. Also check with them and see what information and/or paperwork that you need to bring with you to them when you do file tax papers.
You have until April 15, 2010 to file for any return or overpayment if due called a refund.
    Good luck

    Thank you.

I don't need to do anything extra to get benefit on my wife status as she does not work.

If anything from which I could save then just let me know.

You have completed substantial presence test in 2009. For 2009, you can file joint return as residents. You will get standard deductions and exemptions for both of you. You must both report your worldwide income for 2009. If you or your spouse paid (or deemed to have paid) any taxes in a foreign country, then you can claim foreign tax credit (Form 1116) or use foreign income exclusion Form 2555. Your U.S. Tax Return: U.S. Citizen or Resident with Foreign Income

When you file resident return, you may have also have Form FBAR filing requirement.

Note: Be careful who you use to prepare this FIRST-YEAR return.

That FIRST-YEAR return requires an attachmentt signed by BOTH you and your spouse which states that you CHOOSE to be treated as a resident alien for all of 2009. Most commercial tax preparers are NOT aware of this requirement.
