    Intangible assets
    A company is changing it's name, are the costs associated with the name change capitalized? If so, what kind of costs are capitalized and what kind are expensed?

    Please advise.

    Thanks

    It would be appropriate to write them off in the period as an extraordinary expense

    Costs than might be incurred;
    Advertising
    Design of corporate logo
    Signage and changing the livery on corporate buildings, vehicles, assets
    Corporate uniforms
    Shareholder notifications, meetings
    Reprinting of corporate stationery
    Notification of customers, suppliers, affiliates, staff, stock exchange
