Hi fierst time here. First a little history on the problem We just replaced the ac reley fuse for the third time. The second on got fused and would not release from the on position. The third on did not have a push button to test for a connection it is. When the unit is running there is no problem the house cools great. When the unit shuts down to cycle goes through normal routine. When it goes to kick back on you here the switch loud cracking sounds and the unit does not come on. NOw I have removed the low voltage wires and to relase the switch when I place them back on about 70% of the time the unit will turn on. Other times the unit cracks and pops and nothing. After removing the low voltage wire one or two times the system then repondes correctly. I can't just keep replaceing the reley switch this will get to expensive. Feel there is a short some where but power is coming through all the wires. Please Help

The current being drawn by the device the relay switch operates might be too much for the relay. So either the relay or the device is causing this problem. You will need a Amprobe meter to test the current draw and then read the capacitys of the relay to see which one is the problem.

I have checked the voltage coming from the low voltage controller. There are three wires two yellow and one purple. One of the yellow show about 10 volts the purple shows about 28 volts and the third yellow wire shows about 1 volt. I am thinking the problem is in the low voltage wires , because I have to keep resting the controller by removing the top yellow voltage wire to allow the conroller to reset itself and then reconnect the wire. This seems to be the only way I can get the ac unit to kick back on. Other than that the voltage to the main wires is about 115. I show a constant flow of power enough to start the unit. Though it seems that the low voltage does not have enough spark to it to tell the controller to engage. I am replaceing a small black box that the low voltage wires are running to. I have replaced the controller switch already three times now. And with me constatly takeing the wire off the switch and putting it back on has made the termenal loose. Which is making it harder to get the ac unit to kick back on. Hopefully this can all be solved tomorrow when I go back to the repair shop for new parts. Wish me luck

IIapprecate any help that can be given. It is gracious people like yourself that help the uneducated learn form the wisdom of there experience thanks again for your help.
