2 year old Aussie won't stop biting! What do I do?
So a one year ago my sister decided that she wanted a dog. Me being a proud dog owner said "Yay! What kind?" She didn't even know. So we looked on Craig's List for a free dog. She new that if it was free, it needed a home more than any of the dogs you had to pay for. So then we found Sam. He is a beautiful spotted Australian Shepherd. He was 1 year old when we got him. Ever since we got him he never stops biting! My mom always yells at her because Sam bites everyone in site. He bites me all the time. Yeah it hurts but I love him so I get over it, but no. When ever my mom and my sister get into a fight, my mom always brings up, "haven't you seen Mandy's (me) arms? There covered in bruises, because of that dog." I just need help to make him stop biting so that we can keep him. Please help!

Is he biting seriously or is he play biting?
If it is serious biting then my only suggestion would be to hire a professional trainer before the problem worsens any more. Aggression is not something to be taken lightly.
If he is play biting then it is a slightly different story. When he bites you make sure you squeel loudly and say "no" and take your hand away and stop playing.
He needs to be disciplined when he bites. The form of dicipline is up to you but I use the method or saying 'no' and then standing up and ignoring them until they calm down.

Instead of yelling no. give a high pitch exaggerated ouch! Trust me she will stop. And soon enough she will relate the ouch to her biting and it will stop. It worked with all my puppies when they went threw the lets bite mommy phase!

Why are my dogs doing this to me!
I have 4 dogs Order a German Shepherd, Cody a Caring Terrier/Yorkie mix, Sam an Australian Shepherd, and Lilly a Chihuahua. Sam and Lilly treat me like crap. Sam bites and scratches me NON STOP! Lilly does the same if it involves food or a toy. I looks like I get beat and cut myself WHICH I DON'T. So can someone tell me why my dogs do this to me? Oh Order is 7, we don't know how old Cody is, Sam is 2, and Lilly is 1. Ugh I want to be bite and scratch free!

You definitely have not establish yourself as the alpha person or leader of the pack that is why your dogs treat you so badly. Start reading them the riot act, asserting yourself with them. They will eventually treat you as their leader, only then.

I will do that. I think it will work on Lilly but Sam just doesn't really think he is a dog. Knowing Sam he will bite me more because I hate it. But thank you very much!:)

Just remember that being alpha doesn't involve screaming, hitting, or any of the other things we humans think will work on dogs.
Dogs need to be treated like dogs in order to learn how to behave.
I really recommend Cesar Millans books, he knows his stuff and I have to say it works.
Good luck.

Why do my dogs hate each other?
So I had a German Shepherd named Order since I was maybe 10? Then in 2006 or 7 I found a Caring Terrier which we named Cody. Then last summer we got a Chihuahua named Lilly and later on in the summer we got an Aussie Shepherd named Sam. Order didn't mind when we got Cody and Cody didn't mind Order. Then Cody nor Order minded Lilly. But then Sam came into the picture. Order was REALLY MAD! Then Cody knowing Order as one of the pack's higher dog got mad too. Lilly thought "Yay I get another boyfriend!" and that was gross because she was like a baby. So then Order would attack a toy whenever he saw Sam. I don't know why but I think he was pretending to attack Sam. Then Cody did the same but he would chase Sam barking and growling at him. So Sam and Cody would get into really bad fights. Cody being very very small never won and got the worse wounds. But Sam got some bad bites too. Both thinking that they won they would try to get at each other in the next weeks to prove they were better. Then when Sam moved on to get Order the fights got worse. Since Sam being only 1 won almost all the fights because Order being a FAT 7 year old would not be very stealthy. First we could dump water on them and they would stop. But later on we would have to pull them off each other. Order has had a infected bump on his neck and many bites. Sam has only had a hurt paw. The wounds have healed. Now the must be locked up a lot to keep them from fighting. Order then Sam and so on. But my questions are, why do they fight, how do I stop it, and why does Cody hate Sam and not Order? Please help. Sorry that it is so long.

They fight over which one is the dominant dog. It is unfair of you to expect your dogs to have to fight it out in order to establish a pecking order. They may get along at some point. They may never get along.
You say you want a world of happiness for animals - this is not the way to do it.
Have you tried to discuss this with an animal behaviorist? Or a Vet?
Are they neutered/spayed?
Have you addressed some of your other problems with your dogs? Quite frankly and bluntly I think you have more dogs than you can properly care for - and that includes discipling them. I don't know how old you are but I think you are idealistic but without the resources required to adequately care for these dogs.
ALL of your posts about the dogs fighting and biting should be combined.

Please post ALL similar problems on the same thread so that those of us trying to answer you aren't skipping all over the Board, trying to get the details.
Should be combined -

Did you just get a new dog after your other one passed away?
https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/dogs/d...ck-380035.html
Considering that you didn't have the money to take this very sick dog to the vet why do you have this many animals?
It's time to re-home them to someone that not only knows how to handle dogs but also can afford to care for them.

I just said exactly the same thing on one of the other threads. OP is too young and doesn't have the resources to adequately care for all of these dogs.
And it's obvious.

You think I want them to fight? This site is for people to ask questions, not to attack people. I am 13 years old and those dogs are not all mine. I've seen a lot of your posts and I thought you were very impressive but now your attacking me for trying to help my dogs. Sam is neutered. If I don't keep them separated they will fight and one will die. Without me and my family Sam would have been put to sleep. He is a bad dog and I know we can't handle him but at least we are trying. Yes we have talked to a trainer and there is nothing to do, they hate each other. My dogs are happy. But before you attack another person over a website, try to put yourself in there shoes and see how it feels. But I guess I will be a bigger person and say thank you.

This is an example of why 13-year olds should not be on an adult board. I do not see having dogs which have to be separated or else they will fight to the death as being kind to them or providing a good home to them. Read the other threads you've posted - I'm not alone in this.
I don't see that you have the seasoning, time, energy, training and possibly financial resources to solve this problem, based solely on what YOU have posted in the past.
I have a great deal of difficulty believing they are "happy" dogs knowing that any day now their throats could be ripped out.
I was rescuing and rehoming dogs long before you were born and I've had any number of rescued dogs myself. So, yes, I've been in your shoes. Some dogs simply CANNOT be rehomed, retrained, rehabilitated. That's just how it is.
Your own dogs bite you and members of your family - and you think they are "happy?" You don't think that one of these days they'll either kill each other or turn on a stranger?
So as far as you being the bigger person - I rather doubt it, based on your post. I think you are a 13-year old who only wants to hear what he wants to hear.

OMG Yet again Ms.JudyKayTee is attacking me. The dog who died is my AUNTS DOG she doesn't have this site so I let her use mine. And no she hasn't got a new dog. I am 13 years old and I have a FAMILY of 5 other people. WE CAN TAKE OUR ANIMALS TO THE VET. And yet again I will say this is a website for people to ask questions when they need help NOT TO ATTACK THEM ON WHAT THEY POST. And we can care for our pets.

The more you post the more you prove my point. You may have done a hole bunch of crap, and you say you have "rehome and rescued" we have looked at rescues and people that might take the dogs. Sam bites and the first time he does it he will be at the shelter and be killed. Orderwould have to go to and boom he will take Sam's old cell. He is 7 years old and will be put down because no one wants an old dog. They are good with people and Sam PLAY BITES. This is why this is a website for questions. I don't need you to tell me what to do with my dogs. I don't need you to even talk to me. And no you haven't been in my shoes. You DON'T know what its like to live like this. And yet again my dogs are happy.

Idea:
Well, since SAM is the bad dog, he should spend time in a crate while the other dogs are free to roam around him. Sam should be supervised when let out of the crate. Bathroom break first.
If SAM misbehaves, then back in the crate he goes. Grab SAM by the skin on his neck like moma would do to pull him away from the other dog. A stern NO and ignore him. No hitting.

Cody, I don't believe that the other thread was started by your Aunt, unless she's also 13 years old.
There are a few reasons I don't believe it. Number one is that the writing style is identical to yours.
Number two, signing up for this site is free.
Your new signature is uncalled for. We look at previous posts when we answer a question, to get the bigger picture. That's why it's frowned upon to share your username with anyone else, it's confusing and unnecessary, signing up is free and only takes a few minutes.
We are here to answer questions, and we're also here because we care about animals and want to make sure they get the best care possible. We also do this for free, in our spare time.
Maybe someone else will come along and answer your question, I won't because I think we're being lied to and you're rude.
Good luck to you and your dogs.
