Movie title for a desperate
I need help desperately.:( I'm trying to find a movie title, and the information is so deep in my memory that I've been trying with no results for months. All I can remember is that is a historical movie and/or a drama, the last line (said by a male character) is "He (or You) was (were) the best of us." and that it was made around 2000 or immediately after that. The instrumental music at the end is very dramatical and beautiful. I try to remember more things, but I can't. I tried to transfer the music from a tape (yeah, I taped it) to the computer, but I didn't succeed:( Help me, please! If there's any chance in this world, help me.

:oWOW! This one is hard. You don't have a lot of info to go on. So far, every search I have done has come up with the movie Deliverance. The last line of that movie is "He was the best of us." However, Deliverance was made way before the time you stated and isn't really "historical."
But... and this is a long shot...
I keep getting hits on a song or piece of music called He Was The Best Of Us, used in the movie soundtrack for Beowulf. I know this is a long shot but try the movie Beowulf. Not the CGI animated Beowulf, but the Beowulf movie staring Highlander's Christopher Lambert (1999). It was the right year, and it has a medieval historical look. Watch a few scenes of it on YouTube before you rent or buy it please. As I said before... this is an extremely long shot.
Good luck, and let me know the outcome.

Thank you so much for trying to help me. You're very kind. Unfortunately, it's not Beowulf. That soundtrack is made only of heavy metal stuff. Well, if it's not meant to be found, I guess I'll listen to the tape until it's shredded and that's it. There's nothing more I can do. If my stupid brain won't help me at all... :(

I am so sorry Avalhon. I know the feeling. But please let me know if you do eventually remember more about the movie. A "historical" movie could mean anything. Civil war, WWII, medieval, victorian, ancient Greek, or 1920's gangster type movie? Any clue what the main characters were wearing? The music, would you describe it as John Williams "classical movie score" type music with trumpets and violins, or more soft "New Age" Enya type music with pan flutes and chimes? Yeah, I know, I am looking for any clue here.

Oh, God, it's really frustrating.:( But no matter how I've smacked my head to the walls, nothing came out. And what's worse, is that I know the things are in my memory. When I taped the music at the end, I did it twice (the second time when the movie was in rerun). But... even if it seems to easy (for example I remembered that I'd seen Beautiful Joe with Sharon Stone before this movie I can't remember, and I taped the music as well), there's still no result.:(
The music is like John Williams' style, there's one point where it goes in a crescendo and uses many violins. But that's not much help.
Thank you very much once again. I'll come here when I remember anything else.
