    What will my husband get?
My family and I were in a supermarket by our house. We were in there for about 35-40 min shopping. The manager then approached us. He asked us to check our bags at the front. We were going to check out after we put the soda back that we didn't want. The manager approached us again and told us that we needed to check our bags at the front and also he then accused us of stealing which we weren't. My father then got in a verbal fight with the manager. They then told my father he had to leave the store and. As they were taking him out of the store my husband took a soda bottle and threw it hitting stand of candy bars. The guy said he was going to jail for that and my husband slapped the manager across the face. The manager then tackled him to the floor and my husband bit his arm because the guy was on top of him. My husband is very sick and is on dialysis. While the Manager was on top of him he hurt his dialysis arm. My husband headed home on foot and the cops caught up with him. They cuffed him and put him in the car without reading him his rights. They took him back to the store where the manager said he wanted to press charges against my husband and that my husband and me were not aloud back to the store anymore or any of the related stores. We really don't need a record and we weren't stealing. Plus I didn't do anything so I don't know why I was banned from the store. Can any body tell me please what you think my husband will get? What shoould we do next in order for him not to get anything big?

I have moved your question from the Introductions section to the Criminal Law Section. Introductions is the forum where we introduce ourselves.

Now, I am slightly confused... Was this your husband or your father? You mention both.

I got to spread the rep hon.

I was confused at first too. From what I understand, her father was being escorted out due to his verbal fight with the manager when her husband threw the bottle of soda at the candy rack.

What should you do? Get an attorney. He slapped the manager first.

Exactly - get an Attorney. Your husband and father are on the losing side of this one.

I know all about dialysis and your husband doesn't sound "very sick" to me - he was able to throw the bottle and flee the scene.

I would rely on an Attorney if you don't want to see your husband in jail.

I agree with the husband not being "that sick". He could sure heave a soda bottle around. Glad he didn't end up hitting someone with a 2 liter bottle. He definitely would have knocked the person out cold if it hit their head just right.

Your family should have immediately gone to the front of the store and checked your bags. There is way too much shoplifting going on these days and stores don't want to keep losing merchandise. The manager was just doing his job. And as far as you being banned from the store - that is a decision of the store manager as the store after all is private property belonging to the store and you are a guest on the premises.
