Filling bankruptcy while on wellfare
I have been unemployed for a year all my accounts are in collections, my car will get repossess and I have no income or projected income. I am applying for welfare (TANF). I do not have any money to pay a lawyer to file for bankruptcy. How do I apply for bankruptcy if I am receiving TANF.

Hello mr:
One declares bankruptcy to save some of their assets. Since you have nothing to save, what do you care about your creditors?

Hello again, mr:
You can stop them from calling by sending them a certified letter instructing them to do so pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
They're NOT going to sue you because they KNOW you don't have anything, and it's waste of time and money on their part.
Besides, what do you care about them suing you. YOU HAVE NOTHING FOR THEM TO GET!!

Thank you for pointing out the obvious, I am aware I have nothing. If I needed that to be pointed out I would have stayed with my ex-wife. However thank you for the information regarding my situation.

Anytime a creditor calls you at home tell them right off the bat to stop calling you and send whatever they have to say to you in writing and mail it to you. Then hang up.
You will keep getting letters in the mail and no more phone calls. If you have already informed your creditors you have no assets or income whatsoever they should stop calling and writing you eventually. Just wait them out.

That was what I was thinking excon, you give them a good answer and they come off as it is not right,
But to regroup, there is no special program for people with no money, except that some attorneys will accept payments, or you can try and file your own.
But they may still use you at this point and get a judgement but at this point so what since you don't own anything or have a job.
So there is no reason just to wait till you get a job and can afford an attorney
