Hi Gurus,

I am having a problem with my home networking. I have a Desktop which is connected to A Dlink DIR-655 router and a laptop which has connectivity to the internet through the router. I can ping the laptop and can view shared files from desktop, but I cannot ping the desktop from the laptop. I have disabled windows firewall on the desktop, enabled NetBios to use TCP on both device...

Need help on this...

Problem solved. It seems that I had a VPN Client installed and it's firewall was preventing this connectivity. I disabled it and everything is wotking now. I can access desktop from my laptop.

Your IP configurations looked fine.

Is it the Cisco VPN Client? There is a checkbox in the setup that prevents local LAN access while connected. Also, as you mentioned, the Stateful Firewall can give you some grief.
