    Milk on plants
I read that a little milk mixed in a gal. of water was good for Roses and vegetables. Would sour milk work as well? And can milk be used on strawberries?
Lots of wonderful people on this site. Thanks to all of you. Wes Dyer Manna Foods Min.

Roses and vegs need bone meal, not milk. I can see where the mistake in thinking is made. As a gardener, I have never heard of this practice.

This one offers insights on that topic:
You Grow Girl? - Tomatoes Like Milk

They all mention getting used to the smell after a few days, I couldn't find anything on strawberries. Unless...

guardian77, I did find a lot of references on how deer won't go near plants that have sour milk mixed in the soil around the plants... See the bottom of the above link. She doesn't mention about the deer, but gives her formula.

I did find one video where the gardener was using milk on plants, she was applying it straight from her bottles. :o

    Enjoy... KUXJ

Hi KUXJ, think I will stick to miracle grow. Thanks for the info though. I was thinking about the smell and don't think I want to go there.

Hi guardian... I think the milk idea is for wiping down the leaves of plants to rid them of dust and to make the leaves shine..
