Look in the smallest darkest places you can think of... listen for crying.

Best not to move them unless they are in danger as often the mother will kill the kittens if they are moved.

Leave out some food for the mother near her home made den and wait for her...

If possible, put a box with some warm blankets near her so she can move the kittens herself.

This is not true unless its NOT your cat,,

Usually cats kill the kittens when touched by strange smell, they recognize the smell of those who hold the cat and pet them frequently,, in such cases, the cats do not kill their kittens,,
I tell this with experience,, every cat in our house delivered right in front of our eyes,, surprisingly one cat delivered right into my mom's hands,, they all lived,, right from the 1st day they were born, I have been touching them,, n all lived...
I was stupid enough to touch a kitten in ma aunt's house,, the cat there didn't recognize my scent and refused to go to her kitten,, (fortunately there was a shelter near by and we gave the kittens there,, )
That's when I learnt the facts about cats and kittens,,

Cats love their privacy when they have kittens,, as shazamataz said, use a cardboard box, cushion it with some clothes,, make sure you keep it in a place where people don walk past often,, like under the bed, behind a table, inside a wardrobe (make sure you keep it open always) etc,, show the cat where you have placed the box,, let her feel it,, give her time,, if the cat doesn't like the place, she'l go away,, if she's interested, she'l sniff around and c how safe it is,,

NEVER keep food near the cat's box,, this might attract other cats,, if you wan to feed her while she rests,, keep food for a while, but keep a watch too,, usually mother cats avoid such places where there is plenty of food, so as to not to attract other rival cats...

Usually cats deliver in the safest place they can find,, if you know that your cat is due in a few days,, all you have to do is make some place for her, make her feel secured,, usually cats tend to hide from any stranger,, if there are a lot of kids in the house, the cat feels insecure and tends to find a place other than its own home,, usually, many keep cats and dogs together as pets,, dogs are allowed to linger inside the house as they like,, even in such cases, cats give birth outside,,
