    Dog not drinking
I have a border collie - he is almost 2 years old. He will not drink water. Had to bring him to the vet they said he was dehydrated. Any insight on this

Did the vet do any tests to determine why?

Sorry, but no one here can give you a diagnosis, only guesses which aren't going to help.

The vet needs to do testing to determine what's going on.

    Good luck.

They have ran testing blood work - x-rays All they could come up with is GI upset. But he didn't drink before the sickness

Have you tried giving him pedialite? It will help keep him from getting dehydrated.

What's the vet doing about this? Obviously this can't be allowed to continue.

I agree with Alty, if the dog is drinking a very minimal amount then an electrolyte needs to be added to the water, you could also try adding a splash of dog milk to the water (with the electrolyte) to try and encourage him to drink.

Hopefully the bloodwork comes back soon and your vet can give you a diagnosis.
