I lied though, told them I only have two dogs. :(

So here's the scoop. I can take in a third dog (acutally a fourth, but our secret) for 1 week. Any longer then that and I'll need licensing which requires the approval of all my neighbors. I know that at least 2 of them would not give their approval.

The only reason we've gotten away with having 3 dogs is that they don't go in the yard at the same time. Jasper and Indy are almost identical twins, so nobody realizes that they're two different dogs. Niki is a blonde, they'd notice!

So, I can't take Niki or I run the risk of them taking my dogs and Niki too. It's too big a risk, I can't do it!

    This really sucks! :(
    Oh Shi$, that does suck.
You certainly tried.I can't even begin to think of a plan C.
If I think of anything I'll let you know but, things are done so differently in the U.S its hard to gauge what would work there.
I know you are disappointed but maybe somebody has an idea.

Is a boarding Niki an option? I know it's not ideal, but it could be better then being home with no one.

We actually even have a dog day care here. It's structured and there is an outdoor dog playground.

I recommended it, I'm sure her friend has too, but knowing Starby, it's not an option, she'd worry too much. She really thought her friend would take Niki home with her and keep her until she's out of hospital, but it's just not possible.

Hopefully they'll find a solution. I know that the friend is trying to contact Starby's brother and ask him to take Niki. Not the best plan, Starby doesn't get along with her brother, doesn't really trust him, but it may be the only option.

Another prob with the dog day care or boarding is the cost. Starby's on a fixed income, not a lot of room for extras. I don't think she can afford to put Niki up somewhere.

This just sucks all the way around. :(

Alty, Please send my good thoughts to Starby via her friend. She is certainly one of a kind if she can do that sort of juggling trick and actually break her leg and wrist all at the same time. OMG she must be in really, really bad pain as just a single break in a leg hurts like the d*ckens, let alone two breaks in one leg!

I'd love to see what the "other guy" looks like after Starby got done with them!

Speedy recovery Starby. Everyone here is rooting for you to come back here ASAP. After all, you'll go into AMHD withdrawals and as everyone here knows that's really awful!
