Pain in daschund
My 4 yr old doxie woke me up when I touch a certain part of her body. She was under the covers so I am not sure what I touched, she started to yelp and now she moves around real slow. I have ran my hand down her backbone and she doesn't cry also moved her hind quarters in a circular motion and no yelping, she'll walk OK but jumps hesitantly. Any ideas? Could it be a pulled muscle?

I have an 8 year old Dachshund. Mine had a back problem five years ago and needed surgery (which is why I'm not driving a new car... but she was such a sweet doggie, and was only three years old. I'm happy I spent the money on her surgery.
Probably a good thing that her back isn't tender. Have you felt her legs and tail, and her underside?
Is she eating, drinking, and eliminating normally? If so, I'd have her take it easy a few days, (No walks or exercise, etc.) and see if she improves. But if she is off her feed, has bloody urine or stools, and is obviously in great pain, I'd have her checked right away.

=terryg55] I have checked her legs but maybe not good enough she did yelp again as she pushed off me last night, she is eating and eliminating and still drinking water.I ask her if she wants a cookie and runs to the cabinet with her tail wagging while I get her a doggie biscuit. I will let her rest again today thank you

She needs to see a Vet - it could be anything or nothing. If it's a serious problem such as a pinched nerve, damaged disc, she is only going to get worse. She needs to see a Vet.
