My friend, sorry to jump in like that, nonesense is your opinion and it is respected but;
Humans are the superior race, horses and cows don't go to heaven, they serve us and every other creatures not only animals, so the question is how we win heaven?
Actually you can't separate life from religion, religion is a way of life, for example, crossing a red life is forbidden, why because religion says don't harm anyone else who does not deserve it and don't endanger others, so it applies to crossing the red light
Raising our children right, treating our parents right, being nice to people, being hard at work, all that is within religion teachings, so tell me how we can only have religion at church and not at evey minute of our lives?

You are speaking of LAWS and MORALITY. I know that morals are in underlying forms of religion, but the two aren't inter-changeable.
You believe what you will. I think the two of us arguing about it would be a huge waste of time.
There are different theories as to why people do not break the law, and most of them have nothing to do with relgion. You can obey the LAW and not care at all about God or religion, but you usually can't be the other way around... of course, there have been a ton of people who have broken the law in the name of "religion."

Actually they are, but anyway, do you believe in a creator? If yes as most of the people do, did he create us for no purpose? If there is heaven and hell, wouldn't the purpose be winning heaven and saved from hell through following religion? Meaning believing and obeying where morals are part of this !

Hello h:
I suppose I'd argue with the "who does not deserve it" part... Because you Christians apparently believe that gay people are endangering others and they should be harmed, and that I should be harmed because I smoke pot.
Nahhh, religion sounds all warm and fuzzy, and goody goody stuff. But you guys are REALLY dangerous!

Your theory is flawed. In your eyes, you do things ONLY to get into heaven, thus you have no true goodness but to serve your own purpose, which, according to you, is to make your "creator" happy. You judge people based upon their beliefs and their lifestyle choices, that is supposedly dictated to you by your "creator." If this is the case, then OUR only purpose here is to serve our "creator," thus we are robots who just happened to be born with free will... I am confused.
Oh, and since "laws and morals" are inter-changeable with religion, then I pose this question: Why is adultry not illegal? Last time I checked, cheating on someone doesn't land you in jail... it is, however, highly unpopular according to religion.

What is the purpose of life?
I am going to be honest. I don't know. I haven't figured it out yet. Kepp in mind that I do not believe in GOD. I don't know about evolution, I live my life in a small town trying to live my life one day at a time. I have goals, aspirations, determinations. I have a job, I am engaged and I go to school. I do this because I want to. I don't think of "The American Dream", in todays' world the "The American Dream" is grealty altered from when it was first announced and desired. I have a job because I have bills and I want things, I go to school to make more money down the road (what? I'm only being honest) I am engaged because I love the girl I've grown up with and ask nothing more then her sweet sweet love. I only figured what's better then showing your ultimate affection and love then taking the final step.
I don't know why we are here on this earth and too quite FRANk. I don't care, like I said I don't believe in the almighty and the way things happen are fate. I've seen A LOT of good people suffer and bad people prosper.
It's all opinion.

Excellent Point KC
Hmorrar - your comment about animals not going to heaven (for instance horses and cows), of course they do. Animals are more peace loving than us humans any given day. If anything goes to heaven, the animals certainly do.

Indeed our purpose is to serve the creator, but we are not robots, this is why we have free well opposite to animals and other creatures, we do not judge others for their beliefs and religions, everyone is free to believe whatever he wants, its his acts that are to be judged. So you can believe that killing others is right, but acting by that is a crime!

Yes they are, but were not given the free well, they were created to serve humans in their journey, heaven is only for the creature who has free well as will as hell depending on his actions
Am sorry I disagree and nothing in religion proves your theory

It's fine to choose this as the question that matters most to you, as long as you respect the fact that other people may choose different questions to be concerned about. The only thing more off-putting than having somebody insist that they have the only right answer, is when they insist that theirs is the only legitimate question.

The purpose of life? To survive and prosper.
The meaning of life? Now that's a different question!

Hmorrar, although you certainly have a right to your opinion, you do not have the right to shove your beliefs down our throats and tell us to swallow.
This is not the relgious forum, the question was not about God, so please, answer the original question and then move along.
If you want to discuss your religious beliefs then please feel free to go the religious forum and start a thread. I'm sure you'll get a lot of responses.
While you are here, stick to the topic at hand.
Thank you.

I will quit this subject for your sake, but am not sure why you think you can separate life and religion, may God show all of us the truth, thanks

You're not doing it for my sake, you're doing it because those are the rules.
As for your last comment about life and religion, they don't have to go together in order to live well.
Start your own thread in the religious forum, I'll go take a look, then we can discuss religion all you want. But here, on the relationships forum, you cannot push your religious beliefs on others.
Good luck.

Hey guys, been away for a while. But yah lets stick to the topic at hand in this thread and start a thread in the religion forum, we ll be happy to check it out and post our stuff. We respect your beliefs that you believe the purpose of life is with God but I want to clarify,
it was my bad I guess the question was a little too vague but I meant it in a relationship sense with other humans, either friendship or love, and that's why it was posted in the relationship forum. Well I'm not exactly sure, does the relationship forum have anything to do with the relationship with God?
Anyway thanks for putting in your thoughts guys and KC last time I had a beer, I ended up having a major headache and couldn't sleep lol just seeing that pic brings back really bad memories =P.
