Changing a Washer Single Outlet to a Traditional Dual?
My girl friend wants another outlet in our laundry room (to plug in a dustbuster). There is only the single plug outlet for the washing machine.
My question is can I change that single outlet out for the traditional 2 plug outlet?

    Thanks in advance...

Depends. Is there a laundry (or other) sink nearby?

Then you should be fine just changing the simplex for a duplex.

There is a requirement for a dedicated "laundry" circuit. Thee is nothing saying it has to be a single receptacle for the washer.
