    Answering a Summons sample wording?
I was served over the X-mas week a complaint from an attorneys office about a credit card, I owe about $4,000. I wish to answer without admitting but likely as not will wind up owing, but have a limited income, and this state will turn a judgement into a garnishment quiker than you can say rip van winkle, I don't have much time, please help.

What State and is it Small Claims Court?

If you answer you need a defense and inability to pay is not a defense. If it's out of Statute or not your debt, the amount is incorrect, those are defenses.

I don't know that you want to spend time and money defending yourself if, in fact, you have no defense and believe they are in the right.
