I live in Texas. Do I have the right to know what came back when a background check was done on me, by a potential employer? Are they required to devulge this info to me if I ask.

All you can do is ask and put it in writing. What has to be disclosed to you depends on the source, although if the company has used an unauthorized source they will never give you that information and will base their failure to hire on something else.
No one wants a discrimination lawsuit and no former employer wants to be quoted.
For that matter, if it's a credit problem, pull your credit report. If it's a Police problem, go to any Police Station and ask them to run your name.

You should know what is in your history, unless there is false info in it.

Look! All you have to do is go to. The county deprt. And pay like $5-$15 dollars depending how long is rap sheet is. And they'll pull all your reports then you'll know exactly what's on your background. Or go to a temp service apply for a job and when they run your backgrd check ask them for a copy its free

You do not have to be provided with a copy of the background check - see everything that's been posted above. What County Department handles this in your State? In my State - NY - it's any Police Department and there's no charge.
What State are you in?

A police station will only show your arrest for that city it won't show everything that your charge for. The county shows everything that's on your record. Even when you was a teenager it would show up.

Of course the entire record shows up at the local Police Station - they all use the same system on their computers to track arrests/warrants/criminal records.
Each Police Station doesn't stand alone -
What County Office are you talking about?

No Czech, your city may only provide you what you did, perhaps they will not provide you with a NCIC report ( if in the US) But all police have access to your NCIC, even college police and many county clerks offices.
I know here in GA not all will do the report for you, in the Atlanta metro area for example, the local city police will not do the NCIC reports, and you do have to go to one of two or three county offices, ( and not all offices will do it only specific ones during specific times of day)
But if the police provide a report, it should be a complete one.
But the issue is many companies do not use the police, but they hire a private background that may include the police report, but they also use millions of pieces of info that was gathered though private sourses, so often private search firms find even sealed or explunged records since at one time they were public records.
