Jimmy Carter to talk to Hamas
Maybe he can change their hearts and minds .
Following are excerpts from an address by Hamas MP and cleric Yunis Al-Astal, which aired on Al-Aqsa TV on April 11, 2008.
Yunis Al-Astal: Allah has chosen you for Himself and for His religion, so that you will serve as the engine pulling this nation to the phase of succession, security, and consolidation of power, and even to conquests thorough da'wa and military conquests of the capitals of the entire world. Very soon, Allah willing, Rome will be conquered, just like Constantinople was, as was prophesized by our Prophet Muhammad. Today, Rome is the capital of the Catholics, or the Crusader capital, which has declared its hostility to Islam, and has planted the brothers of apes and pigs in Palestine in order to prevent the reawakening of Islam – this capital of theirs will be an advanced post for the Islamic conquests, which will spread through Europe in its entirety, and then will turn to the two Americas, and even Eastern Europe.
I believe that our children or our grandchildren will inherit our Jihad and our sacrifices, and Allah willing, the commanders of the conquest will come from among them. Today, we instill these good tidings in their souls, and by means of the mosques and the Koran books, and the history of our Prophets, his companions, and the great leaders, we prepare them for the mission of saving humanity from the hellfire on the brink of which they stand.

Jimmy ;who do you think he is referring to when he says the commanders of the conquest will come from among them ? Which useful idiot do you think he has in mind ?

Carter is clueless. I'm sure he doesn't get his useful idiot status, just compare what Hamas advisor Ahmed Yousuf said with Al-Astal's "good tidings."

"If he comes and meets Hamas this will also enhance the image and understanding between America and the Muslim world. ... Carter's visit is a good step and a positive step in the right direction. It would engage with the world community."
Being the good progressive Baptist he is, Carter probably thinks Al-Astal's "mission of saving humanity from the hellfire" is the same thing he teaches in Sunday School. At least Israeli leaders had the foresight of creating "scheduling problems" to avoid meeting with him to discuss his goal of bringing "peace to Israel, and peace and justice to Israel's neighbors."

    What a jerk.

    Hello:

I'm reminded of "The Thing". In the original version, when he's either going to kill the earthlings, or they're going to kill him, this do-good-er scientist runs up to the Thing, and tries to reason with it. He tells it how much better it would be if we lived in peace...

Then the Thing, kills the scientist...

Good example. In this version the last thing you see is Carter waving his Nobel peace prize at them. Perhaps when Congress grows a spine he will be able to wave a Congressional Censure at them as well. At very least his visa should be revoked .

He is a disgrace to our nation.

He has belittled the term, former President.

He needs to be removed from super delegate status immediately.

He is a traitor and should be charged with Treason.

Anyone remember the book "None Dare Call it Treason"? Things have only gotten worse since then.

Heading the Hamas delegation in Cairo were Gaza leaders Mahmoud Zahar and Said Siyam. "This meeting is a message to those who don't recognize Hamas' legitimacy as a movement," Zahar said as he left for Egypt, according to Hamas' Web site.

In Cairo, Hamas spokesman Taher Nuhu told The Associated Press that the purported Thursday meeting would be "a recognition of the legitimacy" of Hamas' victory in the Palestinians' parliamentary election in 2006.
    Meanwhile...

Hamas militants drove two cars laden with explosives to an Israeli border crossing with Gaza under the cover of morning fog Saturday and detonated one, wounding 13 soldiers, the military and Hamas said.

The second car was spotted by troops after the initial explosion and did not go off, the army said. Three Hamas militants were killed in the attack, which came just hours before the start of the weeklong Jewish holiday of Passover. Hamas also dispatched an armored vehicle to another crossing, but the vehicle was struck by an Israeli missile.

Also on Saturday, Palestinian security and health officials said a mechanic with the Hamas police was killed and four people were injured in an Israeli airstrike.

The Israeli army said a suspicious vehicle was hit near the Kerem Shalom crossing. Witnesses said the target of Saturday's strike was a jeep parked near the Rafah crossing with Egypt.

The bombing at the Kerem Shalom crossing was the fifth attack on Israelis at Gaza passages since last week, and came just hours before the start of the weeklong Jewish Passover holiday.

Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack, and one of its leaders, Sami Abu Zuhri, said the group would carry out more attacks on crossings to break the nearly yearlong blockade of the territory.

"These operations are the beginning of the explosions that Hamas has warned of," said Abu Zuhri. "If the parties don't intervene quickly to save Gaza and break the siege, what is coming will be greater."

The problem with Carter, besides perhaps needing more fiber in his diet, is that he thinks his humanitarian acts, such as building houses for the homeless in his own backyard, translates into bouncer at the wild mid-east saloon. Personally I don't think he has any power to negotiate diddly. The Bush admin should just buy the old man a ticket and send him packing on the plane. He'll be back in about a week and will not have done squat. He's not going to hurt or help us one way or the other. If I were part of the Bush admin I wouldn't let old man Carter work me up in a sweat. He's been given too much attention as is.

Let's bring this back to Obama for a minute. 1st he says that he would talk to our enemies .Then when Carter goes to the ME Obama backs away from that position and says he would not meet with Hamas. However ; once Khaled Meshaal is legitimized by Carter will Obama change horses once again ?

Btw last week on the John Batchelor show Ahmed Yousef, the political adviser for Hamas, told Batchelor and Aaron Klein of World Net Daily that his group looked forward to working with Obama as president, comparing him to John F. Kennedy.Quite an endorsement ! When asked about Obama's repudiation of Carter's visit with Hamas, Yousef shrugged it off as “American politics” and expressed confidence that Haniyeh and Obama could do business together.

I talk to my enemy. I've been speaking of GW Bush failed policies for the past seven and half years. The commander and chief hasn't been listening. He's deaf, but that's no surprise.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip – Israel killed Hamas founder Ahmed Yassin in a helicopter missile strike outside a Gaza City mosque Monday, prompting threats of unprecedented revenge by Palestinian terrorists against Israel and the United States.
    Wed., Nov. 8, 2006

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - Signaling a change in tactics, Hamas' military wing on Wednesday called on Muslims around the world to attack American targets after a deadly Israeli tank strike in the Gaza Strip.

"America is offering political, financial and logistic cover for the Zionist occupation crimes, and it is responsible for the Beit Hanoun massacre. Therefore, the people and the nation all over the globe are required to teach the American enemy tough lessons," Hamas said in a statement sent to The Associated Press.
    December 22, 2006

TEL AVIV – Members of Hamas are debating whether to carry out attacks against the United States and may hit American targets if the U.S. continues to support Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' call for new elections, Hamas leaders told WND in a series of interviews.

"There is no doubt that Abu Mazen (Abbas) was encouraged to decide early elections after receiving American promises to support him politically and military," Abu Abdullah, a leader of Hamas' Izzedine al-Qassam Martyrs Brigades, the group's declared "resistance" department, told WND.

The terror leader accused the U.S. of instigating a Palestinian civil war.

"Here the Americans did not support the elections, they actually gave their support and their encouragement to a Palestinian civil war. It is our duty to prove to the Americans that they chose the wrong policy exactly like it is the case in Iraq," said Abu Abdullah, considered one of the most important operational members of Hamas' so-called military wing.

Hamas Leader Khaled Mash'al at a Damascus Mosque...

Khaled Mash'al: "We apologize to our Prophet Muhammad, but we say to him: Oh Prophet of Allah, do not be saddened, your nation will be victorious.

"We say to this West, which does not act reasonably, and does not learn its lessons: By Allah, you will be defeated. You will be defeated in Palestine, and your defeat there has already begun. True, it is Israel that is being defeated there, but when Israel is defeated, its path is defeated, those who call to support it are defeated, and the cowards who hide behind it and support it are defeated. Israel will be defeated, and so will whoever supported or supports it...

"They think that history has ended with them. They do not know that the law of Allah cannot be changed or replaced. 'You shall not find a substitute for the law of Allah. You shall not find any change to the law of Allah.' Today, the Arab and Islamic nation is rising and awakening, and it will reach its peak, Allah willing. It will be victorious. It will link the present to the past. It will open up the horizons of the future. It will regain the leadership of the world. Allah willing, the day is not far off.

"Don't you see that every act of deceit they contrive is being turned against them by Allah? Don't you see that they make every effort to defeat us militarily, but fail to do so? Israel and the occupation forces in Iraq are supplied with the entire Western military arsenal, yet they fail and are defeated.

"Don't you see that they believe they are capable of using democracy to deceive the people, but then democracy is turned against them? Don't you see that they are spending their money in efforts to block the way of Allah, to thwart Hamas, to defeat it, and to help those whom they want, but that [this plot] is turned against them? They are not acting reasonably.

"They do not understand the Arab or Muslim mentality, which rejects the foreigner. Our Arab forefathers, before the advent of Islam, rejected the aggressors and the foreigners.

"I bring good tidings to our beloved Prophet Muhammad: Allah's promise and the Prophet's prophecy of our victory in Palestine over the Jews and over the oppressive Zionists has begun to come true."

"I Say to Europe: Hurry and Apologize"

Mash'al: "I say to the [European countries]: Hurry and apologize to our nation, because if you do not, you will regret it. This is because our nation is progressing and is victorious. Do not leave a black mark in the collective memory of the nation, because our nation will not forgive you.

"Tomorrow, our nation will sit on the throne of the world. This is not a figment of the imagination, but a fact. Tomorrow we will lead the world, Allah willing. Apologize today, before remorse will do you no good. Our nation is moving forwards, and it is in your interest to respect a victorious nation.

"Our nation will be victorious. When it reaches the leadership of the world, and controls its own decisions,
then it will prevent this overt interference [in our affairs], and its pillaging of natural resources, and will prevent these recurring offenses against our land, against our nation, and against our holy places - then you will regret it...

"You Have No Way of Overcoming Us"

Mash'al: "This victory, which was clearly evident in the elections, conveys a message to Israel, to America, and to all the oppressors around the world: You have no way of overcoming us. If you want war, we are ready. If you want democracy, we are ready. Whatever you want - we are ready. You will not defeat us. The time of defeat is over. Defeat within six days, defeat within hours, the defeat of armies - all this is over.

"Today, you are fighting the army of Allah. You are fighting against peoples for whom death for the sake of Allah, and for the sake of honor and glory, is preferable to life. You are fighting a nation that does not tire, even after 1,000 years of fighting. Today, you are facing peoples filled with faith, with the love of Allah, with the love of Allah's Prophet, with bravery, glory, and pride - a nation that knows its way, a nation that knows what it is, a nation that respects itself. How can you possibly defeat us?

"There is a chasm between you and our defeat. You will be the ones to be defeated, Allah willing. The time of defeat is gone, and the day of victory has come, Allah willing. Wherever you turn, you will fail."

Crowd: "Death to Israel. Death to Israel. Death to America... "

Mash'al: "We will conduct our politics in the language of victory. We will conduct our policy in a confident language. We will conduct our politics in the language of those who are steadfast and sure of themselves. Besides, by Allah, after the people has elected us, and has bestowed upon us all this power, we will disrespect its rights?

"The people has given us a deposit, and has empowered us to liberate its land, to restore Jerusalem and its holy places. It has empowered us to release 9,000 male and female prisoners. It has empowered us to stop the aggression, to liberate the land, and to restore its rights. The people has empowered us to bring back 5.5 million Palestinian refugees and displaced people to their homeland. After all this, Hamas - in order to please America and the European Union, and in order for the pressure on us to stop, and in order for their highnesses to allow us to establish a government... We are not trying to please them."The people has given us a deposit, and has empowered us to liberate its land, to restore Jerusalem and its holy places. It has empowered us to release 9,000 male and female prisoners. It has empowered us to stop the aggression, to liberate the land, and to restore its rights. After all this, Hamas - in order to please America and the European Union, and in order for the pressure on us to stop, and in order for their highnesses to allow us to establish a government... We are not trying to please them."It is in Your Interests to Change Your Relations and Policies Regarding the Arab and Islamic Nation and the Palestinian Cause"

Mash'al: "I say to America, Europe, and the West: It is in your interests to change your relations and policies regarding the Arab and Islamic nation and the Palestinian cause. Because we are winning, it is in your interests to deal with the victors, not the losers.

"Israel will be defeated and will be of no use to you. The Arabs will be victorious. The Muslims will be victorious. Palestine will be victorious. Change your policy soon, if you want to protect your interests, and maintain healthy relations with the East."
Sure seems to me that Hamas is our enemy.

    Hello again:

Yes, Hamas, who is an Iranian proxy, is our enemy.

However, your dufus in chief doesn't think so. Instead of preemptivly attacking them, Condi is pressuring the Israeli's to make peace??

Really, dufus in chief is too kind. Jimma is just doing what your dude wants. It's really screwed up over there, and it's getting worser and worser under your guy.

Perhaps he sent an aide to tell Hamas not to take his rhetoric seriously, it's just politics. I'm wondering if he otherwise holds the view Carter expressed in an interview last week, "In a democracy, I realize that you don't need to talk to the top leader to know how the country feels. When I go to a dictatorship, I only have to talk to one person and that's the dictator, because he speaks for all the people."

    Hello again:

I know what you're going to say. You're going to say Bush doesn't want peace with Hamas. He wants peace with those other Jew hating terrorist bastards Fatah, who got their a$$es handed to them by Hamas.

Jimma talks to Hamas - Condi talks to Fatah. I don't see much of a difference, ceptin one's got a whole lot more power than the other. Your distinction falls on deaf ears... Jimma is a dufus too, but he ain't in charge of nothing... Bush is a DUFUS who can hurt you!!

In a 2004 declaration Hamas said the US was their enemy saying "The Zionists didn't carry out their operation without the consent of the terrorist American administration, and it must bear responsibility for this crime."

October 6,2004 in a Hamas release entitled "Hamas Considers the American Administration a Partner in the Aggression on the Palestinian People," they declared :Hamas is condemning the U.S vote {against Hamas in the UN}and stating that Hamas considers the U.S as an enemy and as an accomplice to the Israeli enemy aggression against the Palestinians. Hamas regards the U.S position as a criminal act that puts her in a confrontation with "weak" nations. The U.S will face responsibility for its position as an accomplice with Israel to the animosity.

I take them at their word when they say that their goal is the destruction of Israel and I take them at their word that they will attack US interests over our support for Israel.

It's merely the obvious, NK, when an Islamic terrorist group repeatedly kills Americans - wherever they are - it makes them our enemy. When an Islamic terrorist group repeatedly threatens the U.S. it makes them our enemy. When an Islamic terrorist group says "Tomorrow, our nation will sit on the throne of the world" they believe it - and that makes them our enemy.

Most of the activities are bombings where americans happen to be present, random bombings. They weren't targeted.
