    Can a condo with my name and friend's name on the title be .
    Hi All,

    The condo association bylaw says that "Each Unit shall be used and occupied solely as a single family residence"
    If I add my friend's name to the deed, so he becomes the co-owner, then only he will live in the unit. Will that break the bylaw?

    No, it won't break the by-law. The idea is that the owner isn't supposed to be renting out rooms to make it a multi-family residence.

    Of course you are risking 1/2 ownership of the condo, but yes that would be legal, since then the friend would be part owner.
