    Lump on baby's head
I noticed a lump on back right side of my 7 week old baby's head... has anyone had this experience? ( he did not hit his head but he did have a little cold... slightly congested)

Did the baby hit its head? I would consult with your pediatrician, who would then refer you to specialists if need be. My thoughts and prayers go out to you, your baby and your family. I hope that it ends up being nothing. Keep in mind that sometimes doctors need to "rule out" possibilities before they can come up with a diagnosis. Don't jump to conclusions that something is terribly wrong just because they want to run a lot of tests. My son, who is now 12 years old, had so many tests when he was a newborn and I was soooo worried and nervous. It ended up that whatever had occurred with him was just an unexplainable fluke and he was perfectly normal - and still is. Again, tests are there to rule out and is ultimately USED as a tool to diagnose. A test cannot diagnose, only a doctor can. I know I did not answer your question, but I hope that I helped to lessen your anxieties at least a little bit.

So I took my little prince to his pediatrician thenext day... it was normal everything was OK... thank GOD... it's a normal lump... babies tend to develop lumps on their heads because of the soft spot not being completely closed... specially if they always lay on one side of their head.. my son normally sleeps on his left side... so I was told by thedoctor to switch him around during the day... but thanxfor the ansewr... :)

I am glad that everything turned out to be okay. As parents, we cannot be too careful, too concerned or too worried!!

I just discovered a small pea size lump on the back of my 10 month olds head, I have seen where this could be nothing to worry about it, but is it something I should still have our pediatrician look at? Thank you.
