    ITIN for spouse and daughter
    HI,
I stayed in US from on H1 B from September 2007 to 1st Feb 2008. My wife and daughter were with me till 31st December 2007. Can I get the ITIN for them if I apply? Is there any minimum number of days stay required to get ITIN?

    Regards
    Ramesh

What happened after Feb 1, 2008? If you have left the U.S. then you can file 2007 and 2008 returns only as nonresident. You won't get exemption for your wife and daughter.

    Hi
Thanks for your reply. I left US on 1st Feb 2008. I am planning to file 2007 returns only. Is it not possible for me to get exemption for my wife and daughter? If so what could be the reason?

    Regards

You are nonresident, you will get only your personal exemption. You report only the US income, and not the worldwide income for 2007.
