    Tenant vs foreclosure
I am a tenant. I signed a lease and paid my rent on time. In late October, I reciceved a notice of foreclosure. The property went up for auction in November, and was sold. When I contacted my landlord, he told me not to worryabout it and that he knew. After the auction in November, the person who won the auction and I discussed the me possibly staying where I am and how much my rent would be. The previous landlord called once and asked for rent. Right before the new year, A dispute court date was set in regards to the auction. The dispute case was in January. The outcome was that the sale didn't go through and that the house is still up for auction. The second auction just recently happened. A lady won it this time. The old land lord is trying to get rent from me for December January and February, and is threatening to take legal action. What are my options? What should I do? Who do I pay rent to?

Since your old landlord was still the legal owner and you occupied his property... then you would owe him rent for those months.
