    Client-Server information transfer
This question is with regard to Client (PC workstation running MS Windows) running MS Word and relevant graphic utility accessing Word documents and graphic files respectively on the Network Server (running Netware network operating system).

For reference “Novell Client for Windows” will be implemented on each Client and “Netware Core Protocol” is used for transfer on the network.

Can Word documents and Scanned graphic files on the server be read from the client using suitable software without downloading these documents on to the client? If Word documents need to be changed do they have to be downloaded on to the client, changed, and then uploaded on to the server, or can they be change whilst on the Server?

Yes of course. You simply map the network share as a drive letter on the client. This can be done automatically in the login script.
